Develop & innovate
Axio Learning can help you develop and innovate by allowing you to specifically customize your course for your needs.
Customization
Course Content
Course Content holds all of the content for your course, which can include images, documents, links, videos, audio and more. Here, you can upload files and organize them by creating folders. You can also RSS enable your course content, create and receive content from your File Dropboxes, review archived material, and access and manage links to online assignments. Helpful toolbars make course content easily-navigated and drag and drop reordering helps organize content easily.
Questions
Assignments
Using the Assignments tool is a great way to take the hassle out of the disbursement, collection and grading of paper assignments. The tool allows instructors to create, edit, manage, group and offer several different assignment types (manual, online, timed, fileshare, group, extra credit, practice, gated).
Online assignments can contain a variety of question types, including multiple choice, essay, true/false, short answer and matching. Online and timed assignments can be automatically graded, but you can also enter manual assignments. Instructors have full control over all assignments, including the available and expiration dates, grade posted date and key posted date.
Organizer
My Organizer is your secure and personal information center. It lists all of your courses and also allows for easy viewing and quick navigation to activity within a course using Recent Activity. A menu with links such as Create New Course, My Account, My Calendar and My Profile is available. Customizable widgets such as the Notepad and Bookmarks make the Organizer more personal. The notepad will automatically save anything your type into it for future visits to your Organizer. Bookmarks allow you to keep a list of favorite links in a handy location.
Gating
Gating allows instructors to require students to access or complete specified course work before they are permitted to move on to other course work. Instructors can gate files, folders and assignments. Gating can also be set up to require a specified percentage on a particular assignment to progress.
Quick Links
Transform & engage
Axio Learning can help you engage your students and transform your course by bringing classic course elements like calendars and grade books online.
Attendance
Attendance is a tool that tracks students’ attendance at pre-defined events. For each event, you can mark students as Present, Tardy, Absent (Excused) or Absent (Unexcused). Events can be created arbitrarily, and don’t necessarily have to match the pattern of in-class meeting times. For example, instructors can create weekly or monthly attendance events. Attendance marks can be sent to the Gradebook as frequently (or infrequently) as the instructor desires to be counted toward the final grade and for students to see in their Gradebook.

Private Memo
A Private Memo is a one-way posted message from an instructor to a student using Axio Learning. This may help expedite important messages that you need to get to individuals or groups of students. A memo cannot be replied to or deleted by a student. Instructors can edit, delete, unpublish or publish sent memos at any time. Private memos are an excellent way to track and keep a concise history of messages sent to students.
Course Statistics
Course Statistics allows instructors to view statistics on the number of visits to their course, accesses for each file within a course, most frequently used tools and individual student usage activity by hours and days of the week. Course statistics are displayed in raw numbers and percentages, and in graphical format when possible, to help track trends in course usage.
Axio Survey
Axio Survey is an easy-to-use, flexible web-based survey creation tool, which is designed to poll, assess, report and analyze participant’s thoughts, feelings and opinions. With Axio Survey, you can import and survey your Axio Learning course roster, use many questions types, distribute surveys by email or website address, collect anonymous responses and receive comprehensive and exportable reports. Axio survey comes standard with Axio Learning.
Interact, connect & collaborate
Axio Learning can help you and your students interact, connect and collaborate by offering many different communication options and tools.
Profiles
Message Board
The Message Board is an online, asynchronous forum where students and/ or instructors can discuss class material and related topics that acts like a bulletin board where instructors and students can post, view and reply to messages at their leisure. Instructors can create multiple message boards where they can post messages, allow for file attachments, make threads sticky, and view detailed statistical Message Board usage data. The Message Board is nested, and each post is collapsible for easy reading.
Email Instructor
Student Groups
The Student Groups feature enables instructors to manually or automatically arrange students into groups for participation in course discussions and collaborative assignments, projects and tests. It enables students to interact and collaborate with classmates and to submit group assignments to instructors. Each group can have its own custom name, color and icon and is assigned its own private Calendar, File Dropbox, Message Board, and Chat Room/Whiteboard.
Wimba
Wimba is a real-time collaboration tool that allows groups to meet online for lectures, virtual office hours, review sessions, meetings, interviews, and more. All students and instructors need are speakers, a microphone and a solid Internet connection to communicate as if they were face to face. The audio is nearly instantaneous, regardless of location.
Chat
The Chat Room is an online, synchronous live forum where students and/or instructors can discuss class material and related topics. The Chat Room is also where the Whiteboard and Chat History are accessed. As an instructor, you are able to participate in chats, view chat history, archive chat history and make the archive available to students.
Audio & video
From Course Content, you can record up to 20 minutes of sound, and then publish the recorded file to your students similar to a podcast. Voice recordings and videos can be linked to any place there's a text editor available. This includes your course's welcome message, announcements, questions, message board, and questions.
Flash video conversion
You can convert certain video formats for your course into Streaming Flash Video using Axio's Flash Video Conversion tool. Streaming Flash Video is a video format that is available for immediate playback in an Internet browser. Flash video playback is the most common format on the Web and will allows for easier viewing. Streaming Flash Videos can be played directly in your course with Axio's flash player, and you can add Streaming Flash videos to your Welcome Message, Announcements, or an assignment question.
